General Inquiries

Are PAGNOTTA jobsites safe?

We are committed to working safely.  We strive to keep our projects safe and free of accidents. We work with each client to ensure that the job sites are as safe as possible.

Does PAGNOTTA have out of town work?

Most of our work is in Edmonton, Calgary and surrounding areas.  Depending on the demand of our clients, we occasionally have jobs in other cities in Alberta and British Columbia.

Does PAGNOTTA hire apprentices?

We do hire apprentices; we only take on so many apprenticeship positions.  Therefore, we will consider apprenticeship applications after a minimum of 3 months of employment; during the prohibition period you will be evaluated on work ethic and commitment.

Will PAGNOTTA pay my tuition fees?

Tuition fees are reimbursed by Merit Contractors.  To learn more please visit their website at www.meritalberta.com

Is my Journeyman's ticket from another province accepted in Alberta?

A tradesperson who holds a valid trade certificate from another Canadian province or territory may apply to write the Interprovincial Exam and, if successful, be granted a Red Seal under the Interprovincial Standards Program. The Red Seal is recognized throughout most of Canada.  For Alberta: Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training

Does PAGNOTTA hire workers under 18 years of age?

Due to the inherent safety risks of working onsite in the construction industry, Pagnotta’s practice is to not hire employees under the age of 18.

EMPLOYEE FAQ’S

What is the probationary period?

Our probationary period is 3 months.

When will my health benefits start?

Pagnotta’s employee benefit plan works on a point system where each hour you work counts as one point. Employee benefits start on the first day of the second month following the month when the employee has 300 hours in his bank.  The administrator of the plan, Mercon Benefits, will contact you by mail to let you know that your benefits are about to start.  For more details about the plan, please visit Mercon's website at www.merconbenefits.com  If you were previously working for a company that was a member of Merit and used Mercon Benefits, your hours accumulated at your previous job will automatically be transferred over and you will remain in benefit as long as the number of hours in your account is not less than 150.

How do I change my address and/or banking information?

To protect your privacy:  Pagnotta must receive written notice before any change can be made to your personal information.  You may use the Employee Change of Information Form that your supervisor or head office has to change your address, banking information, RRSP contribution etc or you may notify us in writing.  This form must be signed, dated and dropped off or faxed to the payroll department before we can make any changes to your file.

How do I change my RRSP investments?

You will need to contact the Royal Bank (RBC) directly to make any changes to your RRSP account.

When will I receive my T4?

T4's must be issued prior to the end of February.  Please contact the office if your mailing address has changed.

What do I do if I notice that my pay stub is incorrect?

Please notify your supervisor and he will contact the payroll department for you.  Please do not contact us directly as we need to have it approved by the supervisor regardless.
